Pinnacle NW Bath Remodel is a fixed-price finish carpentry contractor serving Portland, Oregon and the surrounding metro. We build custom millwork, trim, and finish carpentry on a written contract, with daily photo updates and a 3-year workmanship warranty, so you know the price and the plan before the first board is cut. Oregon CCB #258040. Licensed, bonded, and insured.
- Is my Portland metro millwork project really a fixed price? Yes. The price for your agreed scope is set in writing before work begins, so you are not exposed to surprise change orders for the work you signed off on.
- Are you licensed and insured to do finish carpentry in Oregon? Yes. Pinnacle NW LLC holds Oregon CCB #258040 and is bonded and insured.
- Do you build custom built-ins for Portland metro homes, or only install trim? Both. We build custom built-ins such as bookcases, window seats, entry storage, and fireplace surrounds to the exact dimensions of your space, and we handle trim, crown, casing, and paneled walls.
- Can you match the trim profiles in my older Portland home? In many cases, yes. Older Portland homes often have distinctive original profiles, and we plan new work to match or complement them so it does not fight the character of the house.
What is millwork and finish carpentry?
Millwork and finish carpentry are the detailed, visible woodwork that gives a room its quality: built-ins, trim, crown, panel work, and the clean transitions where cabinetry meets the rest of your home. It is the layer people see and touch every day, and it is the layer that separates a quality remodel from a quick flip. Rough carpentry frames the walls and holds the house together, but finish carpentry is where craft shows, in the reveals, the mitered corners, and the way one surface meets another without a gap or a wave. When that work is done well, it reads as effortless. When it is rushed at the end of a job, it is the first thing that looks off, and it is the hardest thing to hide.
We treat millwork as its own craft rather than an afterthought squeezed into the final days of a project. That means the same fixed-price discipline we bring to a full remodel applies to a bookcase wall, a wainscot run, or a set of custom built-ins around a fireplace. Before anyone cuts material, you receive a written scope that spells out exactly what is included, the profiles and details selected, and a schedule you can hold us to. When you approve it, that is what we build.
What millwork and finish carpentry services do you offer in Portland?
We offer three core scopes: custom built-ins, trim and moulding, and finish carpentry that ties a remodel together, and many projects combine all three. Custom built-ins are the pieces that make a room feel designed rather than furnished: bookcases, window seats, mudroom and entry storage, home-office cabinetry, and fireplace surrounds built to the exact dimensions of your space. Because we build to your walls instead of buying to fit, the storage lands where you actually need it and the proportions match the room.
Trim and moulding is the detail work that frames a home: baseboard, casing, crown, wainscot, and paneled walls, along with the door and window trim that carries a consistent look from room to room. On older Portland homes, this often means matching or complementing original profiles so new work does not fight the character of the house. Finish carpentry that ties a remodel together is the connective craft in any renovation: the clean scribe where cabinetry meets an out-of-square wall, the reveal around a new opening, and the transitions between materials that a fast crew tends to leave ragged. Whether it stands on its own or completes a larger kitchen or bath project, that finish work is what makes the whole space read as one cohesive result.
What is included in custom built-ins and trim work?
A custom built-in or trim scope includes the measurement, layout, build, installation, and final detailing needed to deliver the piece exactly as drawn, sequenced so nothing is rushed at the end. In practice, that starts with careful field measurement, because a built-in is only as good as the dimensions it is built to, and Portland homes are rarely perfectly square. From there we plan the piece around how you will use it, confirm the profiles and details in your written scope, and build with cabinetry-level joinery rather than nailed-up filler that looks fine on day one and opens up a season later.
Installation is where the craft becomes visible. We scribe to the walls and floors so the piece sits tight against surfaces that are not plumb, set consistent reveals, and detail the corners and transitions so the finished work looks intentional from every angle. The final stretch is caulking, filling, sanding, and prep for paint or finish, followed by a walkthrough where we close out every remaining item on the punch list before we call the work done. Everything in that sequence is written into your scope in advance, so there is no ambiguity about what the project covers and no surprise line item for work you did not authorize.
How does the Pinnacle Promise apply to finish carpentry?
The Pinnacle Promise applies to your millwork as a written set of commitments in your contract, not a slogan on a wall. Every promise is something you can point to and hold us to. Fixed-price contracts mean your price is set in writing before work starts, with no surprise change orders for the scope you approved. Daily photo updates mean you see progress every construction day, which matters with detailed woodwork because the difference between good and great is in the small steps you would otherwise never see. Clear schedules mean you know the timeline before the first day on site, so you can plan around the work.
Vetted crews only means experienced, screened finish carpenters on your project, not a rotating cast of unknown hands walking through your home. The completion guarantee means we finish the job and close out every punch-list item at a final walkthrough, rather than leaving the last ten percent of the trim unfinished. And the 3-year workmanship warranty means our work is backed for three years after completion. If something we built is not right, we make it right. Taken together, these are the specific answers to the specific ways finish work goes wrong elsewhere, which is exactly why they are written down.
What materials and details hold up best in a Portland home?
The materials and details that hold up best are the ones chosen for real daily use and for the Pacific Northwest climate, not just for a showroom photo. Stable, well-chosen stock and sound joinery are what keep trim tight and built-ins square through years of damp winters and dry summers, when lesser work starts to open at the miters and gap at the walls. We walk you through the trade-offs in appearance, durability, and upkeep so the profiles and finishes you pick are ones you can live with, rather than ones that only look right on the day they go in.
Detailing matters as much as material. Proper scribing to out-of-square walls, consistent reveals, and clean transitions between surfaces are what make finish work read as effortless, and they are far cheaper to plan during a project than to correct afterward. Around damp areas and exterior transitions, sealing and moisture management protect the investment you just made. We help you make these selections during the planning phase, before they are locked into a fixed-price scope, so the details you choose are ones that will still look right years from now, without any pressure and without any surprise costs appearing later.
Do you do finish carpentry outside Portland?
Yes. We build millwork and finish carpentry across the Portland metro, and we come to you. Beyond Portland itself, we regularly serve Lake Oswego, Beaverton, Tigard, West Linn, Happy Valley, Clackamas, and Oregon City. The fixed-price process, the daily updates, and the 3-year workmanship warranty are the same wherever you are in our service area. If you want detail specific to your project, reach out and we will walk your space in person.

Compare Your Materials
Trim and millwork materials compared
Trim material is chosen for where it sits in the house, not by preference alone. Bathrooms, basements and exterior trim in the Portland metro see moisture that a painted interior casing never does.
Common trim and millwork materials compared
| Material | Takes paint | Behaves in damp rooms | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Finger-jointed pine | Yes, it is made to be painted | Moves and can telegraph joints if it gets wet | Painted casing and base in dry interior rooms |
| Clear solid hardwood | Usually stained rather than painted | Moves with humidity | Stain-grade trim, stair parts, built-in faces |
| MDF | Yes, it paints flatter than anything else | Swells if it takes on water and does not recover | Painted interior trim away from water |
| PVC and cellular trim | Yes, with the right primer | Does not absorb water at all | Bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, exterior trim |
| Plywood with applied edge | Either | Stable if the edges are sealed | Built-in cabinet boxes and shelving |

What Homeowners Say
Rated 5.0 by 26 Portland homeowners
★★★★★
We recently had our living room, kitchen, and bathroom fully remodeled by Pinnacl Construction, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and professional. The team was punctual, respectful of our home, and clearly skilled at what they do. The attention to detail was next level! our living room feels more open and modern, the kitchen looks like it came straight out of a magazine, and the bathroom transformation is just stunning. What really stood out was their communication. They kept us informed every step of the way and made sure everything was done exactly how we envisioned it. If you’re thinking about remodeling your home, I highly recommend Pinnacl Construction. They truly brought our vision to life and exceeded all expectations.
★★★★★
Finding reliable professionals to take on smaller projects, especially around the holidays, is never easy. I was referred to Pinnacle by my neighbor and got a fast response. Replacing an outlet and making sure some wiring from the prior homeowner was done right is possibly their smallest project, but they didn't treat me like it. Replies were fast; they came out to see the project, while others wanted a few hundred to even do that, gave an estimate only a few hours later, and booked a time to fix it later this week. They were on-time, friendly, and the lights are back on fast, and the issue was resolved. From the first message to being fixed in just a few days! Would recommend again and plan to contact for some other future home projects!

I’ve partnered with Pinnacle Construction on multiple projects in the Portland area, including bathroom remodeling, and have nothing but good things to say. Their team is professional, communicative, and takes pride in doing things the right way. Jobs are well organized, timelines are clear, and expectations are set upfront — which makes working together smooth and efficient. They treat homeowners with respect, keep job sites clean, and don’t cut corners. It’s clear they care about quality workmanship and their reputation, not just getting in and out. I’m always confident referring clients their way for bathroom remodels and other construction projects in Portland, and I look forward to continuing to work with them. Highly recommend.

Do you build custom built-ins for Portland metro homes, or only install trim?
Both. We build custom built-ins such as bookcases, window seats, entry storage, and fireplace surrounds to the exact dimensions of your space, and we handle trim, crown, casing, and paneled walls. Many projects combine custom pieces with a broader trim scope.

Our Service Radius
Where we work from, and how far that reaches
Our shop is on SE Blanton Street in the Oak Grove area of Clackamas County, on Oregon 99E, the road most people here call McLoughlin Boulevard. Wikipedia puts that stretch about eight miles north of downtown Portland and about four miles south of Oregon City, and those two directions are most of our week.
South and east on 99E and I-205 covers Gladstone, Oregon City, West Linn and Happy Valley, with Oregon 224 running out to Clackamas where it becomes the Sunrise Expressway. North on 99E puts us in Portland where it becomes the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Grand Avenue couplet. West over I-205 and I-5 reaches Lake Oswego on Oregon 43, then Tualatin where I-5 and I-205 meet, and up Oregon 217 to Tigard and Beaverton at the U.S. 26 interchange. U.S. 26 carries us out to Cedar Mill and Bethany. Across the Columbia we take either the Interstate Bridge on I-5 or the Glenn L. Jackson Memorial Bridge on I-205 into Clark County.
We come to you for the estimate anywhere in that radius. If your town is not on our service area page, call and ask, because the list is shorter than the map.
